Just under a couple of weeks ago, I reconnected with Ann Finnie who was part of the PR team at the old HP Personal Services Group, and now has a similar rôle in PR at Logitech, with their business HID group.
If you’re a visitor to this quadrant of the Milky Way, Logitech is generally known for their computer input devices, which span from personal to business, and on the high end, gaming HIDs, which are mice, keyboards, webcams and more.
However, Logitech is a lot more than human input devices. If you remember, I interacted with the LifeSize unit of Logitech earlier this year, and blogged about it here.
Knowing that I utilize Microsoft Lync and HP Virtual Room on an almost-daily basis for ‘the day job’, she wanted me to try out Logitech’s line of Lync-compatible headsets, and conferencing cameras. We even got to talking about that sweet, sweet, Logitech CC3000e ConferenceCam. Oh boy, could I use that device!
Furthermore, she remembered seeing my tweet from last year where I declared my annoyance with the flimsiness of Microsoft’s new line of keyboards, and she wanted to see if I would like to try a line of Logitech keyboards in order to determine a good fit for me.
@staticint @WinObs @harlemS Don't like it. Seems too flimsy - as w/ all new MS keyboards now. The selectable Function/ dedicated keys suck

I thought, and still think that is a good idea, and as a result, I will be testing a range of Logitech keyboard/mouse combos, commonly known as desktops, against their comparable Microsoft products I have here and at MedikLabs.
The cool thing about Ann being in the mix is that I know I will be able to talk to the PM for the product, and maybe, just maybe, I might get to talk with one of the designers.
True to her word, a big honkin’ box arrived today from Logitech. I will open it later today, and post Shiny New Things blog posts about them over the next few days.
Stay tuned.
