We all have to start somewhere, right?
In entry-level servers, you cannot do better than the HP ProLiant ML110 G6 Server.
The G6 series of servers from HP epitomize the performance and reliability once reserved to servers costing several orders of magnitude more. Don’t even get me started on the fact that it uses the latest Intel ‘Nehalem’ processors, has a 33-sensor ‘sea of sensors’ array, and Insight Manager. Throw in an RDX module, and you are smokin’!
The ML110 G6 is backed by HP’s excellent service organization – yes, we use it for our own internal needs – and customer service.
It is cheap cost efficient, uses industry stand components, and just works.
What more do you need in a server that starts at about $500?
Honorable Mentions: The entire HP ProLiant line of servers.
You know me: if there was a chance, a long shot chance that the ProLiants would let me down just like the PowerEdge servers did a few years ago, I wouldn’t recommend them.
The ProLiants work. And are easily forgotten.
That is what I want from a server.
Be an appliance, and fade into the blackground.
